The following murals have been painted at Liquid Salt Divers, a dive centre on a small island of the Maldives.

I spent time diving, snorkelling the house reefs during break time, and painting every single day for three months. Painting in warm temperatures, as the equator crosses the Maldives, was challenging at times. Fully dressed gardenhose showers, instant coffee and the help of an incredible dive centre crew, has made this project possible.

Thila, Submerged reef - A highly detailed mural that explores the underwater world of the Maldives. Including 25 different species of marine animals,

this painting shows the oceans rich biodiversity to locals of the island and guests from around the world.

A map of dive sites - This mural shows the frequently visited dive sites of Liquid Salt Divers. The shallow waters are painted in turquoise, the deeper areas in marine blue and the green patches represent the islands. The map functions as a practical tool for briefings and a visual piece for conversations.

Manta ray - Every year during manta season, between July and October, hundreds of manta rays gather in Hanifaru bay to filter feed the nutrient rich water. The bay, just a short boat ride from the island is well known as a UNESCO-protected marine reserve.

Whale sharks - Two whale sharks circling the main entrance of the dive centre and a detail of octopus arms on the ceiling.

Manta train - Manta rays lining up, circling around and following each other is very common as they work together to gather plankton in one area to feed easily. A decorative mural on the outside wall of the dive centre.
